I've walked previously because I believe in the importance of leading a healthy life and far too many of us have known someone affected by heart disease. In fact, about half of all adults suffer from cardiovascular disease and cardiovascular disease is the number one killer of women.
Now that I work in the construction industry, raising awareness and fighting against preventable losses is really important. The construction industry has a disproportionally high risk of heart disease. I would like to see all of my work family living their best possible lives and getting out there and moving on a regular basis helps tremendously!
Your donation will fund important research that literally keeps hearts beating and helps people have longer, healthier lives. I've set a personal goal of raising $1,000 for the American Heart Association and am including my own personal donation of $250 to get the ball rolling.
