Over the last 10 plus years, I have personally participated in the Puget Sound Heart and Stroke Walk. There have been cold years and rainy years but the reason for me has never changed, raise awareness, and help others to be as fortunate as myself. I am a stoke survivor.
I am extremely fortunate to have received the care I did in the timeframe that I did. Providence had only started their stroke team a few months earlier. I do not have any side effects and take baby aspirin as my only medication. I am an advocate for the American Heart Association because of programs, like the one Providence has, that helped save my life.
My story is shared in this video.
