For those that don't know my story, I had a heart attack while at the gym in March 2019 and was ambulanced to the hospital to have emergency surgery. Two months later, I had open heart surgery (seven heart bypasses) to fix the rest and have been working on getting healthy and strong ever since. It is a lot of hard work but I WILL NOT QUIT! After nearly 2 1/2 years of riding the bench, I decided to start training again and, last August, I ran a 199-mile relay race (Hood to Coast 2021) in Portland with my 12-person team (Team Run & Done). Your continued love and support have fueled me in getting back to living the active lifestyle I've always lived. I currently hike 6-10 miles every Sunday and will start training for my 12th half marathon, hopefully sometime next year. We only have one life to live. Might as well give it our all!
