Hello Team!
Thanks so much for checking out my Heart Walk Fundrasing Page! The American Heart Association has been a special organization for my family as we've unforuntaley experienced healthcare challenges related to cardiovascular disease. Years ago, my grandfather suffered from a stroke and permanently lost function on one side of his body. A man that had worked tirelessly for years, had retired and ejoyed golfing every day, now lost his ability to continue pursing that passion. In additon, last Summer my father suffered a massive heart attack and was lucky to survive! He's recovered well and it has been very eye opening for the entire family!
As someone who is fortunate enough to work in healthcare, our teams unfortunately watch countless community members suffer the side effects (Stroke, Heart Attack, Chonic Heart Failure etc.) from poor cardiovascular health. Many of these individuals appear as very healthy individuals with no family history of heart disease.
However, we must do a better job of educating ourselves and each other on appropriate diets, exercise, and life style choices. A massive part of that education must be directed to our youth population, so that they learn and practice appropriate habits early in life. In addition, we need to continue to fund research for advancements in cardiovascular care, whether it be technology, medications, or better understsandings of genetic vulnerabilities.
With all that being said, I'm now serving as the Chair for the Las Vegas Chapter of the American Heart Association for one more year. One of our biggest goals is to improve awareness and education in our community! We would love to see you at our Heart Walk at Tivoli Village on November 4th starting at 8:00AM. It's a great way for us to start the day off right with family, friends, and colleagues all getting exercise and raising awareness in our community for a great cause.
Lastly, if you would be willing to make any financial donation, it would be greatly appreciated. Any and all amounts are welcome...no amount is too small! Your donation will fund groundbreaking research that keeps hearts beating and helps people enjoy longer, healthier lives. There is power in numbers and together we are helping save lives!
All the very best,
Chris
