For those of you who may not know, our son Jayce is a survivor. In 2019 he was diagnosed with an artrial septal defect and underwent open heart surgery in early 2020.
Jayce refers to his scar as his superpower and wears it like a badge of honor and courage. Watching his recovery has been nothing short of miraculous as he continues to enjoy basketball, football and soon to be wrestling on a daily basis.
As the current Youth Heart Ambassador for the American Heart Association, Jayce wants to spread awareness and advocate for heart health. Please join our "Jojo Strong" team on Aug. 5th at Kapiolani Park for the Heart Walk and consider making a donation to support the medical research that has empowered Jayce to be the vibrant, energetic and charismatic person he is today.
On behalf of the Okinaka Ohana, we are grateful for each and every one of you and hope to see you on Aug. 5! ALOHA!
