I have had many heart stopping moments in my life, but amazingly it keeps on beating.
It stopped this last thanksgiving when I got the call that my dad had suffered a debilitating stroke. It stopped when my son dove to keep the ball from going into the net. It stopped when I learned my mom's heart had failed after a long battle from lung cancer and atherosclerosis. It stopped when my little Abigail swung higher and higher on the swing. It stopped when my mom called to tell me my 41-year-old brother-in-law passed away from a massive heart attack. It stopped when Tim dropped to his knee and asked me to be his wife. I could go on...
If you are lucky, your life will be filled with many heart stopping moments. Moments that fill your heart with joy and moments that test your heart's strength. Each is a gift in their own way. And then... your heart starts to beat again, reminding you the gift you've been given... LIFE.
This will be my 18th year participating in the Heart & Stroke Walk. Every year, I invite friends and family to support me and to honor those that have been impacted by heart disease and stroke. Your donation will fund groundbreaking research that literally keeps hearts beating and helps people have longer, healthier lives.
Have a heart and help me reach my goal today!
