I walk because I know that with every step, I am saving lives.
We're all tied to heart disease and stroke in some way. In 2021, it hit close to home when my father in law suffered a stroke. Because of the heart association’s local advocacy work, stroke survivors like my father in law, had the same chance at a great recovery no matter what hospital they receive treatment from here in Hawaii.
