In August 2022, my heart stopped without warning on a soccer field during a weekend with lifelong friends. I was 43, healthy, and active. Thanks to the immediate CPR efforts of a friend and many trained first responders, I survived a sudden cardiac arrest that should have ended my life. The odds were 1 in 1,000. But I’m still here because someone knew what to do.
That moment changed everything.
I’m walking in the Portland Heart Walk on June 7th to raise awareness, funding, and support for the American Heart Association and the lifesaving mission they live every day. The AHA helped build the protocols that saved me. Now, I want to help ensure more people are trained, equipped, and ready because the next life saved could be someone you love.
Join me. Walk with us. Donate if you can. Let’s turn bystanders into lifesavers.
With Love and a Full Heart, Tyson Yeck
