I was born with a congenital heart condition that affected my mitral valvue, and at just five years old, I underwent open-heart surgery to repair it. It was a scary time for my family, but thanks to advances in medical research and the incredible care I recieved, I've been able to grow up strong and healthy. Orginizations like the American Heart Association play a huge role in making stories like mine possible. Their work in funding research and raising awareness ensures that children born with heart conditions can have access to life-saving treatments and the chance to live happy, fulfilling lives. Today, I'm grateful every day for the gift of health and the support that made it all possible.
