“Mothers hold their children’s hands for a short while, but their hearts forever.” – Unknown
Dear loved ones,
10 Years ago today (May 14, 2014) my sweet mother passed away unexpectedly due to complications from a stroke she had suffered years before. The last time I spoke with her was on Mothers Day. In her loving memory I am participating in and fundraising for my 8th Heart Walk in San Francisco once again later this year. I humbly ask for your support in reaching my $50,000 fundraising goal. Brian Kinion Heart Walk 2024.
Both of my parents had high blood pressure and I was good until recently when my BP snuck up on me. Thanks to some meds and walking ~5-6 miles every morning I’ve got it in check. I started doing morning walks in November last year (sun, rain, ice, wind and snow haven’t stopped me) and have set a goal of 2,000 miles for 2024. The Heart Walk will just add to my mileage.
Heart disease is the #1 cause of deaths in the US, ahead of all cancers and everything else. The American Heart Association, with its focus on research and education, is the leader in the fight against heart disease and stroke. For 100 years the American Heart Association has made a profound impact through bold moves. Throughout the past century, the American Heart Association has been recognized that we're all tied to heart disease and stroke in some way, and we must change that. With your help, we can keep working to ensure all people can enjoy longer, healthier lives. Every dollar donated means more research, more people trained in lifesaving CPR, more medical breakthroughs and more champions for equitable health. We can prevent death and disability from stroke by providing education, awareness, advocacy and tools to support consumer change. May is American Stroke Month and we are encouraging everyone to be a bold advocate for themselves and others. I highly encourage you all to review the resources here to help prevent stroke now, so you can be there later. American Stroke Month | American Stroke Association
Please join me in supporting the AHA by donating to my personal page at Brian Kinion Heart Walk 2024. Your support would fund more cutting edge research and more education efforts that together make Americans healthier and reduce heart disease.
Thank you so much for your support, I really appreciate it!
With heart,
BK
