Hello Friends and Family!

I am a Team Captain for this year's American Heart Association Virtual Walk to raise money for research and education regarding heart health.

Desert Financial is committing to raise $80,000 and my goal is $2,500. 

Why am I walking?  For everyone impacted by heart disease -- which is everyone! 

I'm walking in honor of my father-in-law, my Poppacita John Herycyk, who lived with problems of the heart for many years.  He experienced a heart attack, open heart surgery, pacemakers, Transient Ischemic Attacks (TIAs), and much more.  He lived a lot longer than we all expected and truely enjoyed life.  He lived so long due to the medical advances brought about because of research provided by the AHA.  

In his memory I am asking you to join me to be a part of my team or to donate to the AHA.

Heart disease is the No. 1 killer worldwide and stroke ranks second globally. The AHA is currently supporting scientific research to investigate the impact COVID-19 is having on heart and brain health.  Additionally, the research will provide information to those immediately affected by the virus and help those health care heroes and first responders who are on the front lines caring for patients and searching for cures.

The Heart Walk is a time of celebration, joy and inspiration. People unified in support of a single goal: to see a world free of heart disease and stroke.
