Facilities people know how important it is to stay on top of maintenance. You defer it long enough, and all of the sudden you've got a hospital basement full of water and an AOD on the phone, and who wants that? Not us! We Gen Test at 3am so we don't Gen Emergency at 5pm on a rainy Saturday with a full census. 

Unfortunately, the same principles of preventive maintenance also refer to our own bodies. Staying active, keeping an eye on levels, watching for alarm signals - we should be doing these things too, if we're not already, and the AHA is an excellent partner in giving us the tools to do these inwardly focused work orders.
