In March 2014 my father had a heart attack and over the course of the next few months underwent a series of procedures before recieving an LVAD (left venrticular assist device). For the next 9-months my dad carried around batteries to keep his heart pumping. On Christmas Eve of that year, we got the call that he would be receiving a heart transplant. It's now been almost 10yrs since he received his transplant and we couldn't be more fortunate or more thankful to the folks that helped him (and continue to do so) along the way!
I'm excited to run the NYC Marathon and help to raise proceeds for the American Heart Association.
