To my dear friends, family, and fellow believers in something bigger than yourself,
Hello, and welcome! As many of you know, I started my journey as a graduate intern with the American Heart Association in 2020. A few “side quests” later, I am immensely grateful to have returned to the American Heart Association in September 2023 to continue in the pursuit of health and hope for all.
Since moving to New York City for my career, I often recall and reflect on the significant love, loss, success, and failure redirection that has been experienced in this season of life. As my triplet sister often reminds me (yes, you read that right), these emotions are all an inevitable part of the human experience and we are so lucky to feel them. If we keep our heart open, these emotions can teach us valuable lessons about ourselves, about others, and about the intricacies of life.
Being part of the American Heart Association consistently humbles me, reminding me that life is a gift and the power of human connection is a treasure. Ultimately, I am reminded to show up every day and choose to be a part of something bigger than myself. My motivation to run my first marathon is a testament to that commitment, in honor of a beautiful soul who tragically passed earlier this year after experiencing cardiac arrest. Their life’s dream was to help others whenever they were able, and although they will not be in the crowd on November 3, I will carry their spirit in my heart as I cross the finish line.
Thank you for supporting the American Heart Association and our life-saving work. Truly, I am touched by your generosity to give of yourself to help others live longer, healthier lives.
We are stronger, together. ♥
