To friends, family and community:
I am beyond honored and excited to not only run the famous NYC marathon, but run as part of the American Heart Association team. I am following in the footsteps of my pop, who I watched run this marathon when I was very little with my uncle. Now, I get the chance to run alongside my cousin, with our dads cheering from the sidelines.
Also in the footsteps of both my father and mother, I have found myself living my career dream as a clinician. I work as an NP at the SFVA in Cardiology! Every day, I get to provide care to Veterans, while continuing my lifelong learning alongside some amazing clinicians. I even got to present a poster at the American Heart Association conference last year! I never dreamed I would be running the NYC marathon as part of the American Heart Associaton team.
AHA and high quality cardiovascular health is something I care deeply about and have dedicated my career to. Now more than ever, providing this org with funds to keep their work, programs, and research alive is so utterly vital.
Please consider donating to help me reach my personal dream of running the NYC marathon, my professional dream of supporting the AHA and vital research and programs that improve healthcare, and my heart's dream of merging these two very important pieces of my life together.
Sarah
