I’m running the 2025 NYC Marathon in memory of my mother, Lana, who tragically passed away this past December due to a stroke. Her sudden loss has left an undeniable hole in my heart, but as I navigate this grief, I want to turn it into action, as she would want me to do. Running this marathon is my way of honoring her legacy while raising awareness and funding life-saving research for stroke prevention and treatment.
She was not just a mother to me - she was my best friend, my guide, and my greatest source of strength. She was unstoppable, a true BADASS who never took no for an answer and lived by her motto "get shit done!" When she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2022, she refused to let it slow her down. She demanded to drive herself to chemotherapy and back, continue working and take work calls while getting chemo, and on top of that have enough time to care for her family at home. She kicked cancers ASS.
Now, I'm carrying that same spirit forward by running with Team Heart & Stroke. I’m running for more than just the miles ahead; it's about making a difference in her memory, supporting a cause that saves lives, and doing something that would make her proud! Every donation, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to a world where families don’t have to experience the pain I’ve gone through.
My mommy, my best friend, the love of my life - I promise I’m going to make you proud!
Thank you for your support, generosity, and love. Let's do this together.
