Since I was 16 years old, I have dreamed of running the New York City Marathon. I would attend the race and think to myself, one day I will be alongside those runners. Running has always been a passion of mine. I grew up surrounded by marathon runners in my family and always felt a desire to accomplish something as meaningful and challenging as the New York City Marathon.
On February 28, 2026, that dream took on a much deeper meaning. I received a call that a dear friend of mine had gone into cardiac arrest while running the Greenville, South Carolina Half Marathon and shortly after passed away. The past weeks have been devastating and incredibly difficult to process, especially knowing that this happened while he was doing something healthy that he loved.
This November, I will be running the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon in honor of my friend, Colton Harman.
Colton was, and always will be, such a light in our lives. His kindness, positivity, and the way he brought people together is something that everyone who knew him will carry with them forever.
I am dedicating this race to Colton, to the Harman family, and to his girlfriend Caroline Bauldree, who is one of my closest friends.
Running this race with Team Heart & Stroke through the American Heart Association gives me the opportunity to turn this loss into something meaningful. Through fundraising, we can support lifesaving research, education, and programs that fight heart disease and sudden cardiac arrest.
Every mile I run will be for Colton.
If you are able, I would be incredibly grateful for your support. Your donation will help the American Heart Association continue their work to save lives and bring hope to families everywhere.
Thank you for helping me honor Colton’s memory.
