Twelve years ago, I walked into a Neuro ICU for the first time as a scared 14-year-old girl, saying goodbye to my father after he suffered a massive stroke at just 44 years old. On the drive home, my mom wept and said, "I would've gotten him the best care. I would've put him in the best rehab."
Today, I work on the neurology units at Hartford Hospital as a physical therapist, helping stroke survivors take their first steps toward recovery and regain their quality of life. Every day I see firsthand the impact stroke has on individuals and families— but l also see the incredible difference that early intervention, rehabilitation, education, and research can make.
It is an incredible honor to be running the New York City.
Marathon as part of Team Heart & Stroke, supporting the American Heart Association. This cause is deeply meaningful to me, both personally and professionally.
Running 26.2 miles through New York City will be a huge challenge, but every mile is for the patients I care for, my family, and the hope of improving outcomes for those affected by heart disease and stroke.
If you're able to support my journey, any donation-big or small-helps fund lifesaving research, education, and care.
Thank you so much for being part of this with me.
