I’m supporting the American Heart Association and training for the NYCRR marathon because of a promise I made to my wife while I was in recovery from an emergency triple bypass surgery in March of 2025: I will not slow down.
To be fair – I am NOT a fast runner, but I have run for many years. In mid-2024, I felt some discomfort while training for a half marathon. And long story short, I had a triple bypass at age 42.
Recovery was hard, but I knew that I have to be here for my three kids and my wife. And a couple of goals I set for myself were to get back to running and raise awareness around heart health and testing!
I am grateful for American Heart Association and the work they do. I would not be here today without it. I’m asking for you to make a donation today, and join me in supporting for this important cause.
