I am a born and bred New Yorker, raised on Long Island, and running the NYC Marathon has always held special meaning for me. The 2026 race would be my tenth marathon, and I would be deeply honored to run it in support of the American Heart Association.
This cause is especially personal. My father, a physician in Queens, passed away suddenly a few months ago from an unexpected heart-related event while at home. Additionally, he had been physically handicapped since his 30s due to a prior brain tumor, and throughout my life, running has always been a way for me to carry his strength and perseverance with me. Being able to run the NYC Marathon for him, while supporting heart health and awareness, means an incredible amount to me.
Thank you to everyone for taking the time to consider my note. I am excited to have the opportunity to represent Team Heart in my hometown marathon.
