I’m running the 2024 NYC Marathon in memory of my dad, Michael Cappucci.
NYC is where my dad went to college (Go Rams!), met the love of his life, and made his career. His passing in 2021, obviously, affected the many communities of which he was involved greatly. As a result, I have focused on my heart health, using running as a main form to improve my cardiovascular fitness.
Heart Disease is the #1 cause of death globally, and the American Heart Association is dedicated to fighting it. As a member of team Heart & Stroke, I’m raising money to help the AHA in their mission of encouraging longer, healthier lives. Your donation will help save lives by investing in research, education, and other forms of prevention. I encourage you to familiarize yourself with the signs of a heart attack so that you may protect yourself and your loved ones.
Running for my dad in this city and for this cause is an experience for which I am incredibly grateful. My dad was a great father, husband, brother, friend, coach, and leader. Though he may not be here physically, my dad is with me in everything I do. Every time you hear his guidance echo in your thoughts, he’s there with you, too. He made an immense impact while he was here, and he continues to do so through all of us. It’s an honor to run in his memory, and I’m thankful for all of your support.
With love,
Elizabeth
