Many of you know certain facts about me. I'm prone to crazy athletic endeavors. I've completed 2 Ironman triathlons, 15 marathons and according to one website that tracks these things, almost 200 other races. You also may know that last year I had open heart surgery to replace my aortic valve.
I'm one of the lucky ones. My condition was diagnosed and monitored. I have health insurance. I had a great cardiologist and surgeon. My recovery was amazing. I'm back to running and leading an active lifestyle. But not everyone with heart disease is so fortunate.
Many people with heart disease don't know they have it, or if they do, may not have adequate treatment available. The American Heart Assocation works hard every day to help prevent heart disease and to make sure that individuals get diagnosed. They also sponsor life-saving research for new and better treatments.
On Saturday June 9th, I will be participating in Lawyers Have Heart, a 5k and 10k that raises money for the American Heart Association. I'm slowly crawling back into shape and may try the 10k. But I will be out there helping to ensure that others with heart disease have a brighter future. I ask that you sponsor me as part of the effort. I'm trying to raise a total of $10,000. Every donation, no matter how small, counts.
Thank you for supporting American Heart Association. Your contribution is greatly appreciated.
