Please join me in helping to save & change lives of those who are affected by heart and vascular disease; the #1 cause of death nationally and internationally.
I am running in the Chicago Marathon with the American Heart Association to raise much-needed awareness and funds for the innovative research, prevention, education and lifesaving initiatives of the American Heart Association.
I am involved with the American Heart Association because my father passed from heart disease in 2023 and my grandfather and sister-in-law both passed from heart attacks. And I was affected by a vascular disease. As a marathon runner who had regular annual checkups, it was never a thought in my mind that I would be diagnosed with peripheral artery disease. It took two years to diagnose and treat (femoral artery bypass and follow up angioplasty) my condition and now I am back on the road running for the American Heart Association.
Since its founding in 1924, the American Heart Association (AHA) has shined a powerful light on heart disease, its treatment, and its prevention. Much of what is known about our hearts and brains can be traced to the AHA in one way or another.
Most likely you or someone you know is or will be impacted by heart or vascular disease, so please consider supporting today. I greatly appreciate every donation, no matter how big or small.
Sincerely,
Debbie Danto
