I am Running the Chicago Marathon in Memory of My Mom and for the Future of Heart Health
On April 30th, 2023 during my senior year of college I lost my mom to heart disease. It was sudden, devastating, and life-altering. My mom was my biggest supporter, my constant source of love, and the strongest person I knew. Losing her so soon and so unexpectedly changed everything.
This October, I am running the Chicago Marathon in her memory and in honor of every family affected by heart disease. I have partnered with the American Heart Association to raise funds that will go toward life-saving research, prevention efforts, education, and support for families like mine.
Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the U.S., and yet so many people including young healthy families dont realize how close it can hit until its too late. I am running not only for my mom, but for a future where fewer people have to experience this kind of loss.
Every mile I run is for her. Every dollar you give brings us one step closer to a world with healthier hearts and more time with the people we love.
Please consider donating to help me honor my mothers legacy and support the fight against heart disease. Your support means the world to me and it could help save someone elses.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
Regards,
Alexander Andersen
