Training for the 2025 Chicago Marathon holds a special place in my heart, as I’m running for a cause that has deeply impacted my life. As a heart mom, my journey began when my daughter was diagnosed with a complete heart block when I was six months pregnant. At just six weeks old, she received her first pacemaker, a life-saving procedure that marked the beginning of her ongoing heart journey. She is now 8 years old and stronger than ever!
The American Heart Association has been a lifeline for families like mine, funding critical research, providing educational resources, and advocating for better care. Every step I take in this marathon is not only a personal challenge but a way to give back to an organization that has made a profound difference in our lives. With heart disease being the leading cause of death in the U.S., your support means the world—not just for my race, but for the millions of families like mine who are fighting for their children’s futures. Together, we can help create a healthier future for all.
Thank you for supporting American Heart Association. Your contribution is greatly appreciated.
