Hello! My name is Taryn Rodgers and welcome to my page!

My story is kind of a long one. I am an open heart surgery survivor. When I was born, I was born with a heart defect, which my doctor now calls a congenital heart defect. I had open heart surgery 3 days after I was born, leaving scars that I, today, take a lot of pride in. 

Today, I live with pulmonary stenosis as well as a mild heart murmur. To me. Running has felt impossible, like something that I would never be good at BUT this year I decided to stop doubting myself and decided I was going to run. Now, here I am fundraising and trying to represent more people like me. 

I am not only running and fundraising for myself but I am also running on behalf of my mom, who lives with stage 3 heart failure, which has left her with a weak heart that she is working to make stronger. I am also working to raise money for the Cincinnati Heart Walk that my mom and I will be doing together.
