Hi all! As many of you know, 2018 proved to be a year of challenges for me. In September 2018 I discovered a bacterial infection in my heart that I was pre-disposed to because of a congenital heart defect called a bicuspid aortic valve which I never knew I had. My open heart surgery that was needed to save my life took place on September 19...my birthday. I’ve been on a road to recovery since then and am already making great strides.
Being healthy and active is a huge part of who I am. In many ways it defines my core. I’ve decided that 2019 is going to be an epic year with some great adventures. I have signed up to run the Chicago Marathon on October 13, 2019 and have joined the American Heart Association’s marathon team to raise funds to continue the fight against heart disease.
Advancements that this organization has made over decades have been crucial to so many heart healthy causes. I’d be deeply grateful if you’d join me in contributing to this special organization. Thank you so much for supporting the American Heart Association. Your contribution is greatly appreciated!
