On October 13th, 2019, I will be running the Chicago Marathon to honor my mother's life. She passed away on August 13th, 2018 due to complications with her health, specifically her heart. When I was searching for a charity to represent, the American Heart Association was an easy choice. So, here I am, ready to work. I will be training for the next 9 months in preparation for the Chicago Marathon, with a goal finishing time of 3 hours and 30 minutes. I committed to raising $5,000 for the American Heart Association, which we surpassed the evening of January 15th, 2019. My ultimate goal is $10,000. I’m asking for your support in this effort through your good thoughts and encouragement, and if you so choose, through your generous contribution to the American Heart Association.
I created a page and made the first donation to the cause. The money we raise will help build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular disease and stroke. If you have a friend or a loved one who has been affected by heart disease or stroke, I would be honored to finish this race in his or her name as well, and I encourage you to share their story with me by emailing me at email@example.com
I’m very excited about this journey and I look forward to achieving my goal marathon finish time of 3 hours, 30 minutes. Please join me in helping to reach the $10,000 mark.
