Yes - I am at it again.
BUT - good news, I am keeping it in the family. After 3 years of riding for the Young Survivor's Coalition with my mom in support of breast cancer, I have switched gears. This time it is for my dad, who is unfortunately suffering from congestive heart failure and working hard to make every day count. My dad has introduced me to many things, one of the more memorable ones being running. We ran a half marathon together in Louisville, KY in 1992. Although I am not sure if I remember all the details, I think there may have been a bet involved to get me off my butt: which led me to agree to the half marathon. Despite my struggling, I made it and we crossed the finish line together.
Although I would love to say we are doing this together, I will have to settle to run for him and on behalf of the American Heart Association. I will run the Chicago Marathon on October 13th, 2019, and am hoping my dad can be at the finish line to watch me complete my first marathon.
Thank you for supporting the American Heart Association and my journey to run for my father. Your contribution and support is greatly appreciated.
