I’m so excited to share I will be running the 2023 Chicago Marathon in support of the American Heart Association. My dad was diagnosed with heart failure in 2015, he was 54 years old at that time. Leading up to the diagnosis, he had two small strokes. He followed up with his cardiologist regularly, took his medications, and followed lifestyle modifications. By 2022, his heart function had rapidly declined, despite a pacemaker and defibrillator and was hospitalized indefinitely due to his poorly functioning heart. In August of 2022, he was blessed with a matching heart from a donor and received a transplant, a gift of life. Our family is forever grateful for the amazing doctors throughout this journey, my fathers donor, and the incredible research and ongoing resources of the American Heart Association. Please help me reach my fundraising goal!
