Hello! And welcome to my fundraising page!
I am honored to announce that I will be running the 2025 Chicago Marathon as part of the American Heart Association Team! This race is way more than just my first 26.2 miles—it’s a chance to support life-saving research, raise awareness, and make a real impact in the fight against heart disease.
As many of you already know, running has been a part of my life since I was young. I don’t think my parents knew that when they were signing me up for cross country in the fifth grade, they were also signing themselves up for a lifelong commitment to mercilessly sprinting between spectator viewing areas. From helping me shake off early morning race nerves to biking by my side in the dark, my family has been there for me every step of the way. As an adult, I now see that running has given me more than just endurance—it’s also given me a healthy heart, lifelong friendships, and a deep appreciation for the people who have always been in my corner.
Completing a marathon has long been on my bucket list. Inspired by a close friend last fall, I decided that this would be the year to not only embark on the challenge of crossing the finish line but also to support a cause greater than myself. With a history of heart disease running in my family and directly impacting one of my greatest supporters, I have chosen to join the American Heart Association Team as a way to give back. This organization is committed to funding innovative research and educational programs aimed at enhancing treatments, advocating for prevention strategies, and increasing equitable access to healthcare for individuals facing cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) – the leading cause of death among Americans.
Over the next eight months, my focus will be centered on training, fundraising, and spreading awareness in order to help others on a broader scale and overall reduce the prevalence of CVD. I am beyond grateful for any contributions that bring me closer to my goal of raising $2,100. Thank you for considering supporting me on this journey!
