This year I am honored to run the Chicago Marathon with the American Heart Association. Running my first marathon in Chicago, the city I’ve called home for the past 4 years, with an organization close to my heart is something I am so excited to be doing in 2025!
I am running in memory of my grandma, Marietta Vickrey, who passed away from heart disease in November of 2023. She was such a strong woman, and mine and my siblings’ and my cousin's biggest fan. I know she’ll be with me in spirit as I train and run.
I am also running in honor of my Dad, Bryon Higgins, who is living his best, healthiest life after undergoing an aortic valve replacement in January of 2023.
And finally, I’ll be running for my entire family who continues to fight heart disease daily.
Thank you for supporting the American Heart Association. Your contribution and support is greatly appreciated!
