Join Nick in the Race to Save Lives and Support Heart Health
Dear Family, Friends, Colleagues and Supporters,
I am thrilled to announce that I will be participating in the 2025 Chicago Marathon! I am excited to run and raise money for the American Heart Association. This event is not just about running; it's about making a difference in the fight against heart disease and stroke, the leading causes of death worldwide. Through my work as a clinical scientist in the Structural Heart space, I have seen the impact heart disease has on patients and their families. With your support (and these legs!), my goal is to raise $2100 dollars for the AHA while completing 26.2 miles.
This will be my FIRST marathon! I am so excited to challenge myself and push my body to a place it's never been before. A few years ago, a mile was a challenge. I never considered myself a runner, but once I turned 30, I decided I wanted to set new goals for myself. I started with a few 5Ks...then, I graduated to Grandma's half marathon. My goal was to finish within 2 hours and I met that goal by 3 minutes! I have started my training for the Chicago Marathon and I am laser-focused on completing this race. To challenge myself further, I am setting a goal to finish at 4 hours.
Why support the AHA?
Heart disease and stroke affect millions of lives every year, including those of many of our loved ones. The American Heart Association is dedicated to improving heart health through research, education, and community programs. By supporting this marathon, you are contributing to life-saving initiatives that can prevent heart disease and stroke, improve patient care, and promote healthier lifestyles.
Thank you for considering supporting the American Heart Association. Your contribution is greatly appreciated.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Nick
