As most know, my father, Gordon Vogt Jr., passed away on November 12th, 2024. Unaware of the symptoms of a heart attack, my dad ignored the warning signs and passed in his sleep. In his honor - and to spread awareness for heart health - I have been graciously accepted to fundraise on behalf of the American Heart Association and run in the Chicago Marathon this October 2025. Endurance sports were something that my father and I bonded over, and his last pep talk with me was to take on a full marathon. Celebrating his life in every step of training and on race day, this fundraiser is my pledge to run with my father in mind. To make this race even more special, this event takes place just one month before the one year anniversary of my father's passing. While I miss my father every day, I look forward to race day and celebrating hard work with all of the runners in Chicago. Thank you for supporting the American Heart Association, but mostly, thank you for supporting my father's legacy. Your contribution is greatly appreciated with the entirety of my heart. Stay golden, xoxo
