About the Beach Ride

The 1st Beach Ride was held 44 years ago! It is amazing to see what this community has created in the last 44 years! The “Heart Ride” or “Ride-A-Thon” as it has been called, started with a group of 20 riders led by Myrtle Beach Native, Jack Monroe and his wife Margo!

The Beach Ride has become a nationally recognized event in the Equine World and includes riders and horses from all over the country! These riders and their horses come together to raise awareness for heart disease and stroke while enjoying time camping and riding on the beach of Myrtle Beach, SC.

By Registering for the Beach Ride, you are taking the first step in saving lives. Every Rider who joins, every dollar donated, means more people trained in lifesaving CPR, more research and more lifesaving moments for everyone.

9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital die. In most of those cases, bystander CPR was not performed. But we can change this. Cardiac arrests happen at work, in homes, on athletic fields and in neighborhoods everywhere, and the readiness of our community can be the difference between life and death.

It's time to unite, take action, and save lives. Our goal is to have one person in every household confident and prepared to perform CPR. The American Heart Association invites YOU to join the Beach Ride to broaden our impact by turning bystanders into lifesavers.
