This will be my first year participating in the AHA Beach Ride at Myrtle Beach and I am so excited that not only do I get to be a part of a great organization that brings awareness to heart health, but I will also get to take a rescue horse along with me for the ride.
I got my love of horses from my dad, so this cause holds a special place in my heart. My dad had a heart attack in 2007 and underwent a quadruple heart bypass and through that experience I learned so much about the importance of advocating for heart disease. Unfortunately, my dad’s health continued to decline through the years, and he lost his fight in March 2022, but his love for horses continues through myself and my daughter, Ava, who will also be participating in this event.
