These are a few of my favorite things; cookies & milk, puppies & kittens, horses & hearts.

This fall, our Ride A Rescue team will again be participating in the American Heart Association (AHA) Beach Ride.  This is a fund raising event where every penny raised will go to the AHA to help save lives from heart disease and stroke.  Last year 19 of our beautiful and brave rescue horses joined up with 600 other horses from across the country (in Myrtle Beach SC), to help raise almost $405,000.

For those of you who may not know, I volunteer with Ride A Rescue (RAR).  This non-profit horse rescue rehabilitates horses in need that were once neglected, injured or unappreciated.  Preparing these animals to be able to experience the beach ride is no small task. It is well worth the effort when you see them go from looking wide eyed to charging in to the water with their rider and gaining confidence and trust with every step.

This cause is personal to me.  I lost my Dad to heart disease.  I also have family members and several friends impacted too.  Heart disease and stroke affect males, females, adults and children.
