Thank you for visiting! This year, I am excited to participate in a special beach ride event to support the American Heart Association’s mission to save lives and build healthier futures. With every mile, I’m raising awareness and critical funds to help defeat heart disease and stroke, two of the leading causes of death worldwide.
This cause is close to my heart—literally. Earlier this year, I discovered that I carry the TTN gene, a genetic variant that impacts the body’s largest protein, titin, which is crucial for heart and skeletal muscle function. TTN mutations are common among people with dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM), a leading cause of heart failure and sudden cardiac death. About 1% of the global population, including me, carries this mutation.
On this journey, my horse Denali and I will be riding in a beach event in South Carolina to raise awareness and funds for early intervention and personalized treatments that can change lives for people impacted by heart conditions like mine. By supporting this ride, you’re helping advance research and providing hope for those affected by DCM and other cardiac conditions. Together, we’re riding towards a future with healthier hearts for all.
Your support directly fuels advancements in research, training, and education, turning efforts like ours into real, life-saving impact. By riding together, we’re making a difference that reaches beyond us—improving lives, supporting healthier communities, and working towards a world free from heart disease and stroke.
Join me in this mission and help make every heartbeat count. Together, we can make waves against heart disease and stroke!
