Sonny and I are participating in the 45th Annual Beach Ride in association with the American Heart Association. Please join me in this worthwhile cause. My cause of course is all about my daughter Lena.
Lena was born with an AV canal defect with severe mitrovalve regurgitation. Lena was only 5 months old when she underwent open heart surgery at Boston Children's Hospital. The operation was not a success, and her heart would not beat on its own. Another operation was needed immediately for a pacemaker implant to keep her alive.
Since then, Lena has needed a replacement pace maker about every 7 years. Lena has been so brave over the years througj all her surgeries.
Please join me and Sonny in ssupporting the American Heart Association, for rhis worrhwhile cause. WIthout their amazing reseach and investment in evolving technolgies for Lena's condition, she may not have survived as an infant. Today, Lena is a happy and healthy 27 year old young lady. Ironically we will be riding on November 6th, Lena's 28th birthday.
