I am hopeful that Chief and I will be able to head north to the beach again this year to raise money for the American Heart Association. Our fingers, toes and hooves are crossed super tight. If we are lucky - this will be our 16th beach ride, the 39th for our organization. The ride will be very different - no gatherings - camping and riding only while social distancing - but our focus is still fundraising. Our goal for this year’s ride is to raise $500,000 to make it our best year yet.
These unprecedented times have made our fundraising efforts more important than ever. On top of all the lifesaving, groundbreaking work we have always supported, the American Heart Association has stepped up big time and has invested millions of dollars for:
• Fast track cardiovascular research to help patients by accelerating the development of antiviral drugs to treat Covid-19
• Supporting the needs of health care workers who care for heart and stroke patients - Every 40 seconds someone is having a heart attack or stroke, so these angels need a lot of support
• Work with Federal and State Governments to ensure families have access to care - including free Corona Virus testing
Raising these funds allows us to continue our lifesaving work to keep all families - including yours - safe and secure. Please give as generously as possible to help us get through this pandemic together.
I have set a personal goal to raise $2,000 to help fund critical research and education to prevent heart disease and stroke. Please help me if you can by clicking the link in this email to visit my personal donation page where you can make a secure online tax-deductible donation
Wishing you happy, healthy trails - now and always,
Lindy & Chief
