This year will be our fourth year at the American Heart Association Beach Ride. In the past year, I have had family and friends that have endured cardiovascular diseases. My step-Dad had a stroke, my uncle lost his life after bypass surgery and strokes that weakened his heart, and some of my riding friends have also had trouble that resulted in Bypass Surgery. My Dad suffers from high blood pressure, and one friend recently found out he had a heart attack and didn't even know it. This year, Elvis and I ride for them, all of them. My Uncle Bob, My step-Dad Fred, My friend Grayson, Bud and Tor. My Dad, Gary Blaisure and my friend Alan Hackler. Not to mention friends and family I've lost even longer ago.. My Grandpa Blaisure, Alan Horowitz. You see, every one of us are touched by diseases of the heart one way or another.
Each year, the AHA Beach Ride is an opportunity to do something I enjoy while raising funds for a great cause. The funds we raise are used for critical cardiovascular disease research and education. Through research and education, we can all learn how to take care of ourselves better to avoid having to deal with these awful diseases.
Will you please support me and my efforts to fight the nation's No. 1 disease.
Heart disease and stroke impact all of us, but because of events like the Beach Ride we can make a difference. Through education and research the American Heart Association is working to build healthier lives.
Please support Elvis and I as we ride for this great cause.
Thank you for supporting American Heart Association. Your contribution is greatly appreciated.
