Come walk with me September 21st Geodis Park for the 2024 walk!
I walk because I know firsthand the life saving power of stroke and heart research. In 1995, I suffered a massive brain stem stroke that paralyzed my entire body. I couldn't move a finger, I couldn't move a toe; it was a condition known as locked-in synrdome.
My only form of communication was blinking out letters in an alphabet chart. I had less than one-in-a-million chance to survive. 70 days in intensive care, months of rehab. I slowly regained function and thanks to life saving research and care, I'm here to tell my story and make a difference in the lives of others.
I'm stil partially paralyzed, but I've come full circle. From a helpless patient trapped in her body, to regaining my life, returning to school and becoming a medical social worker in a hospital who makes a difference.
Your donation will fund groundbreaking research that literally keeps hearts beating and helps people have longer, healthier lives.
I am grateful for the opportunity to walk and never take a single step for granted.
Please consider walking on my team or donating to save lives.
Thank YOU for helping me reach my goal today!
