I walk because I know that with every step, I am saving lives.
In 2009 I suffered a cardiac arrest while I was sleeping, I have my husbands quick thinking, the emergency services team and the cardiac team at the Ross Heart Hospital to thank for me being here today. While being treated for the cardiac arrest the medical team discovered I had moderate Mitral Valve Regurgitation. Beginning October 2022 I developed symptoms that would indicate that the regurgitation had progressed to severe regurgitation and that a Mitral valve repair surgery had become neccessary. I had valve repair surgery spring of 2023 and am continuing to do well!
