I did not have a chance to know 3 of my 4 grandparents as they passed early in life due to stroke and cardiac illness. I know that my grandparents were great people who worked incredibly hard and would have loved the opportunity to get to know their grandchildren. I will walk the Heart Walk in honor of my grandmother, Margaret Layman, my grandfather, Frank Layman, my grandfather E.D. Smith, and my grandmother Mary Smith. In addition, I am very proud to be an Operations Leader in a manufacturing site producing product used to detect Cardiac Illness. I enjoy being part of a great team of people working hard (like my grandparents) to provide product to help patients in need. Please join me in the San Diego Heart Walk on 9/17 in support of the work of the AHA and for our family members who have been impacted by this challenge.
