I walk for my Mom. She is a woman of incredible strength, kindness, and love who has survived two heart attacks and continues to defeat CAD (Coronary Artery Disease). My family and I are incredibly grateful to have her here.
I walk to raise awareness about heart attacks and their impacts on women. My Mom's heart attacks expressed themselves in ways that were nothing like what you are told or shown growing up. We need more public education and outreach efforts to inform the public about what heart attack symptoms can be expected in a female patient.
I walk to pay tribute to others who have survived heart attacks and other heart disease. Saving and improving lives can be as simple as taking a walk. And I know I'm making a difference in the lives of others by participating in the Heart Walk.
