Dr. Angie Pannier, Professor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, runs a research lab focused on discovering new technologies in gene therapy and tissue regeneration for the treatment of a variety of diseases. Her research has been partially funded by the American Heart Association. Because of her association with AHA and her commitment to advancing medical therapies in the treatment of heart disease, Dr. Pannier is serving as Team Captain for the UNL Biological Systems Engineering Team for the American Heart Association’s Lincoln 2021 Virtual HeartWalk.
As a team, she has set a goal to raise funds that are needed for critical cardiovascular disease research and education; funds that are currently supporting research in her lab and in other labs across UNL, Nebraska and the Nation! Given COVID-19 and the toll the pandemic has taken on those with underlying cardiovascular diseases, it is now more important than ever to give.
