In February 2023, my husband suffered 3 consecutive strokes following a 21st birthday celebration for our son. What should have been a memorable happy day ended up as one of the most frightening and life changing events for our family. Thankfully, we were able to get him to the hospital and get him the treatment he needed. After months of hospitalization and extended outpatient treatment, he has been given a second chance of life and is making progress, one day at a time.
I walk because I know that with every step, I’m making a difference in someone’s life. And when combined with a million other Heart Walk Heroes across the nation, we have an even greater impact toward curing heart disease and stroke.
