The mission of the AHA is especially close to my heart. I have personally been affected by heart disease, losing both of my grandparents and an uncle to heart attacks, and witnessing the life-altering effects of stroke on a close friend. I am grateful for the breakthrough research that has come from the work of the AHA. My mom Donna, who suffers from cardiovascular disease, is doing well and living life to its fullest thanks to the outstanding cardiologists and nurses who take care of her. She’s my best friend and I am grateful to have her in my life. As a pharmacist and as President of Kroger Health, I have seen firsthand the critical importance of education, early detection, and healthy lifestyle choices in saving and improving lives. The work of the AHA aligns deeply with my own commitment to helping people live healthier lives.
