Why I'm Fundraising
My name is Genevieve Whelan, and I am honored to be a 2025 Teen of Impact Nominee for the American Heart Association.
I’m excited to begin my tenth year of dedication to raising money and awareness for the AHA, an organization that holds a special place in my heart due to its critical role in supporting families like mine who have been deeply affected by heart disease and stroke.
Both of my paternal grandparents tragically passed away from heart attacks, and my maternal grandfather has survived thanks to the lifesaving efforts of the AHA, as he now lives with 17 stents in his heart. My maternal grandmother has had a stroke, and my great aunt and uncle have both undergone open-heart surgery. My uncle and aunt both had open-heart transplant surgeries.
These personal experiences have motivated me to become an advocate for heart disease awareness, especially since heart disease is the number one killer of women. Click the Donate button to join me!
