Last November I had a heart attack, commonly known as the "widowmaker", at home where my left anterior descending (LAD) artery was 100% blocked by a blood clot. According the to the American Heart Association the survival rate for a widowmaker outside of a hospital or advanced care center is 12%. Quick action and medical staff saved my life.
I was able to start my recovery with the help of the cardiac rehab team where I exercised under the watchful eye of the medical staff.
Heart attacks happen at work, in homes, on athletic fields and in neighborhoods everywhere, and the readiness of our community can be the difference between life and death.
Every dollar donated, means more people trained in lifesaving CPR, more research and more lifesaving moments for everyone.
I Walk to Save Lives. Help me reach my goal today.
